We booked the husky sledding, with Jans as our guide. He was great took time to point out various points as we drove to our destination in Cesis, we arrived at the destination where we met with the husky team and their beautiful huskies, we had time to meet each huskie and learn and see their personalities. We were given a detailed instruction on how to steer and mush the dogs. It was a fantastic 5-6km run one way and then swapped with my partner for the return. Its safe to say i enjoyed every minute of todays trip and cannot recommend them enough for this experience. Thank you so much for the memories. And of course to Jans for showing us parts of latvia we may of missed had he not shown us!

We throughly enjoyed the Husky Sledding Tour, our guide Jans was amazing, he is very proud and passionate about his country sharing lots of knowledge with us about the history of Latvia and historic monuments, he took us to many different stops along the way and gave us a full authentic Latvian experience. The Husky Tour is a must do, it’s so much fun with amazing scenery, the people that own the dogs are lovely and you can see the dogs are well cared for. Jans gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and drink which we also enjoyed, the tour with Jans was like being with an old friend and he puts so much effort into taking photos/making a video which is sent across after the tour. Thank you Jans!

The highlight of your Riga trip!
Total joy! An amazing day full of endorphins cuddling the beautiful huskies and then getting pulled through the snowy landscape by six very excited and keen huskies.
Jans picked us up from our airbnb in the centre of Riga and drove us deep into the Latvian countryside for about 1h 10min. We could pet the huskies and take photos before the ride. The sledding took about 20-25 min. Afterwards, we enjoyed more time with the huskies, had a cup of hot tea and tried a few local spirits and snacks with Jans and the dog owners.

On the way back to Riga, Jans was also eager to show us some other parts of the Lativan countryside on the way back and we stopped by really lovely giftshops, caves, and other hidden gems. We didn’t quite have time to stop by Sigulda as we were in a rush but he also offered to do that.
Overall, a really fun experience, definitely worth the price and taking out a day from your trip to Riga!

We had an amazing day with Jans. We loved the huskies and the trip to the market after. Jans was a great host and we really enjoyed talking to him about the history of Latvia amongst many other things. A genuinely lovely man

Wonderful
We had a last minute booking for the husky tours and thoroughly enjoyed our time! We had a wonderful driver Oskar who told us all about Latvia on the drive and was infectiously enthusiastic!
The dogs were beautiful and you could tell the owner loved them and knew them all individually.
We also had a number of pictures and a video sent to us afterwards of the experience which was a lovely touch
We will recommend Jans and this tour to others visiting Latvia

GREAT TOUR IN RIGA YOU HAVE TO DO
It was a very nice experience. We first met the guide Oskar, who was really very nice and helpful.
After a one-hour drive from our hotel in Riga to the starting point, we got to know the husky dogs. They were all very friendly and playful.
The Husky sled tour was a really great experience. After the tour there were drinks and snacks and we were then in a winery. There we were allowed to taste different wines and schnapps. We recommend this tour as a must for a visit in Riga 🙂

I had an incredible experience with this tour company! Jans, my tour guide, was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable. The husky sledding in the Latvian countryside was a highlight, and Jans shared fascinating information about huskies, Latvia’s history, and more. He took his time, captured fantastic photos and videos, making the tour memorable. Exploring the rural town of Līgatne, indulging in a small winery tasting, and visiting historical sites added extra charm to the journey. Highly recommend this tour for a delightful and enriching experience!

Fabulous trip with Janis, would 100% recommend. We had a really amazing husky sledding trip today. Janis was great at communicating and made it very easy to book. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us out into the countryside. On the way we chatted and learnt lots about the region which was so interesting for us. On arrival we met 19 huskies and had lots of time to greet them. Obviously very happy and healthy dogs, all with different personalities but all very sociable. Nikolai gave us instructions on how to work the sled and we set off. He accompanied us on another sled to ensure we were ok and he helped us change over half way round. We were the first ride of the day and the dogs were super enthusiastic. The rude was 4km which is longer than others we read about. On our return we had lots of time with the gorgeous dogs and Janis also kindly gave us mulled wine and tea and some special Latvian celebration cakes which were delicious!
On the wY home Janis took us to a beautiful village in the countryside and to see a ferry that crosses a river, we then visited dome very interesting caves and stopped by a beautiful boutique local wine and produce store. Where we had dome tastings and bought dome gifts. On the way back to Riga Janis was so interesting and we learnt much more about the culture of Latvia. As extra special surprise was the amazing video Janis sent us of our time with the huskies!
We have travelled all over the world and this is one of our favourite trips ever.
